John Vogel, Managing Director & President, TBG Canada

John Vogel is CEO of GEFCO, President of The Balloch Group Canada, as well as the Chairman of two other companies: NRX (market leader in asset information management) and Toktumi (mobile VOIP telephone solution for small businesses), and former Chairman of MyNext Mortgage (vertically integrated Canadian mortgage broker and lender). Mr. Vogel has 25 years of experience as a senior fixed income trader, structurer and sales professional. He spent four years at Chase Manhattan-credit training and treasury, CIBC Wood Gundy-asset securitization and bond option trading, and Merrill Lynch-bond option trading and marketing, respectively. He also spent two years at Deutsche Bank as head of Canadian fixed income sales, and seven years at Toronto Dominion as head of European fixed income sales. His career began in New York followed by twelve years in Toronto, seven years in London, and two years in Hong Kong. He is currently based in Vancouver.

Mr. Vogel received his BA (Honors) in Economics from Queen’s University and is a Certified Financial Analyst.
